Veneers in Vegas
Not only is a gorgeously white smile possible, but it’s something that you can achieve with a few appointments at our office for our dental veneer procedure.
Our number one job is to help patients just like you have a smile that they feel proud of. Dental veneers are a popular option because of their durability and uniform white appearance. They are discreet and last for years before requiring any type of maintenance.
Every year, countless people come into our office because they are looking for a permanent solution to the appearance of their teeth. They want more uniform teeth with a less misshappen appearance, a smile where they don’t have to deal with gaps or cracks.
These patients are also tired of having to frequently spend money to whiten their teeth every year. Sound familiar?

Crooked, Misshapen, and Discolored Teeth Can Be Transformed With Porcelain Veneers
Everyone’s mouth is different and it’s not uncommon for your teeth to develop gaps or spaces over time. In situations like these, we usually recommend veneers. Veneers usually only require two visits to our office.
There are three areas where porcelain veneers are most helpful:
- Patching gaps and chips: Porcelain veneers can be used to cover the area created by gaps and chips. You’ll be able to have a perfectly even set of teeth!
- Evening out misshapen teeth: Veneers have a wafer-thin, uniform appearance. They can change the shape of your smile and straighten it.
- Providing a beautiful white appearance: As you grow older, your teeth can appear more discolored. Veneers can cover these stains and give you white teeth.
Porcelain Veneers Are a Fabulous Solution
Porcelain veneers are strong and durable wafer-thin coverings that are a cosmetic solution for patients who want to avoid the hassle of constant dental maintenance.
After a veneers procedure, you won’t have to:
- Schedule visits to have your teeth whitened.
- Feel embarrassed by cracks, chips, or stains.
- Worry about the gaps in between your teeth widening.
You’ll be able to enjoy a smile that is straight and even, without having to worry about braces or Invisalign® orthodontics. We can give you a completely new smile with porcelain veneers at Wagner Dental.

Benefits of Porcelain Dental Veneers
Veneers Have a Natural Tooth Appearance
Porcelain veneers have an amazing reputation because of their translucent appearance. Veneers are great for the following purposes:
- Covering cracks.
- Building up chipped teeth.
- Making your teeth look uniform and straight.
As people grow older, the inner layer of their teeth (known as dentin) is exposed. Dentin has a yellow appearance, and porcelain veneers can be a fantastic solution for masking it. They are also a great solution for older patients that want to fix minor cosmetic issues but don’t want to go through the hassle of wearing braces or getting a crown.
The application process for veneers doesn’t take long and they blend in seamlessly with the rest of your smile. Your friends and family won’t be able to distinguish them from your natural teeth. They’re that realistic!
Gums Tolerate Porcelain Well
The high-quality porcelain that we use is designed to be gentle on your gums so there is no irritation. You are going to have your veneers for several years, so when we apply your veneers, we make sure that they line up with your gums and that they feel comfortable. You’ll be able to wear your porcelain veneers without sore gums, which is a plus!
Porcelain Veneers Are Stain Resistant
Many substances including coffee, red wine, and tobacco can stain your teeth because the enamel in your teeth is porous and absorbs these substances. Over time, these stains will compound and make your teeth appear darker. This often prompts patients to get their teeth whitened.
Porcelain veneers are a premium solution for anyone that cares deeply about whiter teeth because it carries the following properties:
- Porcelain veneers are a more permanent solution for tooth whitening.
- Unlike enamel, porcelain is non-porous, so it will not absorb staining agents.
- With proper maintenance, the shiny white luster of your veneers will last for years.
This doesn’t mean that you want to abuse your veneers, however. They still require the same level of care that your regular teeth do.
Veneers Can Make Dark Teeth Appear Whiter
A good amount of patients that get veneers do so because they want a beautiful white smile. If this describes you, you’ll be very pleased by the results. Porcelain is a shiny material that reflects light very well and will make your teeth appear much brighter.
Some food and drinks stain the enamel of your teeth and make them appear darker. These foods include:
- Tea.
- Wine.
- Coffee.
- Berries.
- Tobacco.
Porcelain veneers can cover these stains. You won’t have to worry about your veneers absorbing the color of staining agents.
Please note that dental veneers cannot be whitened after placement. Once veneers are applied they will be a part of your teeth for years. We should choose the correct color of your veneers before we apply them.
Veneers Do Not Require as Much Shaping as Crowns
Both veneers and crowns require shaping. Our dentists typically remove one millimeter of enamel from your teeth for veneers. About 2 millimeters are required for dental crowns.
Crowns are a protective covering for an entire tooth. They necessitate the removal of enamel around the entire circumference of your teeth.
Porcelain veneers only require your tooth enamel to be removed on the front of your teeth. Veneers are more of a cosmetic procedure and have a much simpler and less involved application process.
“I’ve never been to a dentist that I loved until going to Wagner Dental. They are by far the best dentist I’ve ever been to and I’ll never go anywhere else. I recommend them to anyone who asks. The front office staff is the absolute nicest, Dr. Kent Wagner and Dr. Nelson are wonderful and Heather is the best hygienist! I don’t have dental insurance and their prices are extremely reasonable.”

How Do Porcelain Veneers Work?
Diagnosis and Treatment Planning
The first step of any dental procedure is understanding your unique situation. To determine if you are a good candidate for dental veneers, we will conduct an examination that includes:
- An assessment of your needs and dental health.
- X-rays that help us understand your needs.
- Answers to any questions that you have.
The majority of patients are good candidates, but we want to make sure that we give your veneers the best chance at success.
We will ask you questions to understand what results you want to achieve. Do you want a complete smile makeover? Are you looking to cover a few chips or cracks? Are you trying to make all of your visible teeth straighter? Questions like this will help us put together the right treatment plan for you.
Tooth Veneer Procedure
Next, we begin the veneer process.
- Impressions: We will take an impression of each tooth to design the veneers specifically for your mouth.
- Tooth Preparation: We will gently remove the enamel from the front of your teeth. We will only remove the amount of tooth that is the thickness of each veneer.
- Veneer Design: We will send the veneers to our laboratory for design. It typically only takes a few weeks for your veneers to be created.
- Temporary Veneers: In the meantime, we will place temporary veneers while we wait to receive the actual ones.
- Veneer Placement: Finally, you will come back to our office and we will place the veneers. You will have your permanent veneers in no more than a few hours.
Throughout the entire process feel free to ask us any questions that you have. We are an open book and we will prioritize patient education so that you get the most out of your veneers.
Veneer Bonding
We use special equipment to place your permanent veneers. We will prep the surface of your teeth to make sure that we apply a sturdy bond that will hold the veneer for years. Before we do this, we will shape your veneers so that they will snuggly fit your teeth and look just like you imagined them. The bonding process is also a great time to color-match the veneers to your existing teeth.
Aftercare and Maintenance
No procedure is complete without the right aftercare instructions. We won’t send you on your way until we answer any questions that you have. Veneers, like the rest of your teeth, require proper care.
Make sure that you regularly brush and floss to maintain overall good oral health. After all, your veneers are now a permanent part of your teeth, and their success hinges upon the health of your teeth.
If there are any questions that you still have after your procedure, we are always available to help. Should any issues arise, you can come back into our office and we will take a look at your veneers and fix the problem.
We will also see you at your regular semiannual appointments where we can check in on your veneers as well.
Common Questions About Dental Veneers
Who Is an Ideal Candidate for Veneers?
We want to provide access to dental treatment for as many patients as possible. In reality, it’s important that we also set you up for success. We want you to get the most out of veneers, and we don’t want to perform a cosmetic procedure that will fail prematurely. Because of this, your teeth must be in good shape before applying dental veneers.
We would probably recommend against this procedure if you have:
- Tooth decay.
- Gum disease.
- Missing teeth.
- Bruxism (tooth grinding).
- Can’t commit to taking care of your veneers.
When you come into your office for a consultation, we can take a look at your personal dental history to better assess the viability of veneers.
How Long Do Porcelain Veneers Last?
In general, porcelain veneers last for 7–15 years. The length of time varies so much because every mouth is different; every patient that we see has different oral health which affects how long your veneers will last.
Although durable, porcelain does require replacement after this time. Here is a list of things you can do to get the most out of your veneers:
- Don’t chew on hard objects that can damage teeth.
- Avoid grinding your teeth or wear a nightguard to protect your veneers.
- Always practice proper dental hygiene and come in for regular examinations.
These tips will help build the foundation for robust oral health which makes it less likely that dental work like veneers will fail.
What Are the Disadvantages of Porcelain Veneers?
Veneers are one of the most highly sought-after cosmetic treatments, but they also have some drawbacks.
Part of the veneer procedure involves shaving down your tooth enamel. This exposes the inner layer of your teeth. Veneers protect this layer, but they need to be maintained. For this reason, veneers are a permanent cosmetic solution. We can’t add the enamel back to your teeth.
If you choose veneers, you need to be able to commit to good oral hygiene, avoid grinding your teeth, and come into our office for semiannual visits to make sure that everything is going smoothly.
Veneers also need to be replaced every decade or so as the porcelain begins to weaken.
Do Dental Veneers Require Special Care?
Dental technology has come a long way over the last few decades. Porcelain veneers don’t require any specialized care outside of normal brushing and flossing. However, you should be gentle with your veneers to ensure that they don’t break.
You should avoid the following with veneers:
- Chewing on ice.
- Opening bottles.
- Chewing on pencils.
- Opening packaging or bags.
Don’t do anything else that could compromise the strength of your veneers. You also want to brush and floss your teeth daily to promote healthy teeth and gums. If you can protect the structural integrity of your teeth, your veneers will stay in good shape.
How Much Will the Veneers Cost?
As with any dental procedure, the cost of veneers largely depends on the extent of your treatment. During your consultation, we will be able to give you more specific pricing. We will cover how many teeth you want to have treated and talk about payment options.
Veneers will help you save money on teeth whitening, straighten your teeth, and take care of any chips or cracks. After the procedure, you will be free to enjoy your teeth without the hassle that comes with maintenance.
